Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are usually, Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally occurring sugar in the skin and other areas of body. It binds and holds on to water to work like a space filler giving our skin a fuller appearance and a youthful look. 50% of Hyaluronic acid is in the skin, with age its production drops resulting in a volume loss and wrinkles on the skin.
After your first consultation and determining where it will most suit you Hyaluronic Acid / Wrinkle Filler injections can be strategically placed in layers of the face to improve appearance by replacing the lost volume.
Most filler injections last for over 12 months.
Fillers have a local anaesthetic built into the product which makes the procedure relatively comfortable.
Lip fillers do require additional local anaesthetic to make it a pain free procedure.


What is involved in the treatment?

After a full consultation and answering your questions skin is cleaned with an antiseptic, followed by dermal filler injection. Local anaesthetic/cream is required for Lip fillers.

What areas can be treated?

The most commonly treated areas are: Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds), down-turned lips, between the eyebrows (the glabella lines), Lips (adding volume and shape) and cheeks. Dermal fillers can be used to improve skin volume loss on the back of hands as well.

When will I see the results?

The results are instantaneous, however, there may be some bruising following the procedure, which usually resolves in a few days.

What are the possible side effects of Dermal Filler?

Some of the side effects are, redness; swelling; itching; pain; firmness; bumps; bruising; discolouration. Sometimes there may be a delayed reaction.
